The Infamous Masterson’s , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my most recent experience at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I found behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

From the moment I stepped inside , it was evident that hygiene was not a priority at this bar . The surfaces were tacky , and a overpowering stench of old alcohol and neglected washrooms filled the entire pub. With a smell of a mixture of urine , decay and sickness . The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and refuse that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The toilet was in even worse condition — clogged , with a cracked flush mechanism and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human excrement .
